The Host by Stephenie Meyer

Stephenie Meyer became famous through her hit Twilight saga. Though the Twilight saga is addicting and alluring to thousands of young readers, Stephenie's bestselling, young adult series is nothing but fluff compared to her complex and dyanmic book The Host.

The Host, is Stephenie Meyer's first adult novel, and worthy of the praise and acknowledgment the Twilight Saga has generated. The Host has multiple elments that make it something wonderful; romance, suspence, and depth. The characters feel real, are endearing and never over or underplayed. The story is unique, bringing something new and incredibly intriguing to the book world. The book incorporates sci-fi, with glimpses at other worlds and civilizations crafted from Stephenie's mind. Mix these elments with the beauty of her writing style, which sounds nothing like it did for the Twilight novels, and the intensity of emotion in the books and you've got a book really worth reading.

The Host is an addicting novel, which speaks truth about humanity from the view point of a character that knows little about human nature, emotion and is bias towards it. Stephenie really gets into the head of the character, so much so that it actually makes the story believable. I was shocked by the detail and incredible depth of this novel.

A novel people can relate to, The Host really makes you think about the nature of humanity, and of yourself.

Verdict: The Host is a must-read.
